Assorted Bad Zell

,

Bad Zell is a spa town in the Mühlviertel, whose claim to fame is that the water is full of radon, which is claimed to help arthritis. Almost every other guest in the hotel was old, and they offered an anti-gout meal plan. There was a free swimming pool, but I never actually got to use it because it was always rammed full of old people.

My extremely mid 90s room. They must have regularly done it up in the same style though, as everything was immaculate. I also got a free sample tube of their in-house deep heat gel made from pine needles. It’s pungent stuff.

It was also nice to have a second bed to use as a sofa. A luxury when you’re on the road!

Genuine holy water.

It was carnival season.

No price listed for the huge seating booth. Can run your own pub from home easily with this thing.

I was watching the second season of Severance while I was there, and the Bad Zell postcard could definitely be a prop from the show. I didn’t come home glowing green, but the radon water definitely makes your hair shiny.
