Building

I also went to the Library of Birm­ing­ham. Initially I went to see the Daniel Mead­ows exhib­i­tion, but the build­ing was so large and impress­ive that I ended up spend­ing a lot of time there, and didn’t end up going to the City Museum. It has nine floors, multiple exhib­i­tion spaces and two roof gardens.

Pavement

I liked the decor­at­ive brick­work in the square around the library.

Plaza

Which looks even more impress­ive from above.

Levels

The inside is like some­thing from Borges. On the top floor is a wood-panelled room filled with copies of Shakespeare which has been taken apart, moved and put back togeth­er every time they have built a new library.

Garden

The build­ing has two differ­ent terrace gardens . . .
