New Years Resolutions 2026

I don’t see the point in setting restrictive, onerous or miserable New Year’s resolutions, it just seems counter-productive. It seems far healthier to think of things you actually want to do in the upcoming year that are achievable.

Do creative projects

I read 46 books in 2025, which is still a decent amount, but below average for me. I have a lot of train commuting ahead of me from January to March, which provides plenty of opportunities for reading. I also want to write reviews of what I’ve read on a monthly basis, rather than quarterly as I’ve done this year.

Update this blog more often

I still have a fair few posts of Austria photos in drafts, and a whole load of Sicily photos from 2024.

Travel for fun

I stopped travelling for work in February, and didn’t really go anywhere much the rest of the year due to the financial pain of switching over jobs.
