Düsseldorf 2017

, , ,

I forgot to post these photos from summer 2017 at the time, because the ones from the top of the tv tower had LED light reflections on the glass from the rotating bar that I needed to remove, and I didn’t get round to it because I did a summer camp right afterwards and then moved house. I was in Düsseldorf (Cologne’s posh twin) overnight on my way to the Sauerland.

Here is the famous Kraftwerk building on Mintropstraße round the back of the train station. They’re not there any more. It’s actually kind of grim along there. You didn’t want to hang around.

At least an appropriate business occupies the premises now. I’m surprised there aren’t more English speakers calling themselves a “tone engineer”.

The mighty Rhine. Looks pretty different to the upper reaches in Liechtenstein.

I really like the look of the local trams and their grassed-in tracks.

The most 2017 look of all

I went to the TV tower as I got a free ticket from the hotel.

You can see a little bit of the reflections from the lights here. The Photoshop heal brush wanted to add in a load of imaginary trees, so I just left that bit.

Wir fahr’n fahr’n fahr’n. The song is actually an audio picture of driving from Düsseldorf to Münster, via the heavy industry of Duisburg and the peaceful countryside of the Sauerland.
