Here’s an assortment of bits from St Pauli in Hamburg. You might be wondering why there’s no Reeperbahn or Beatles trail. That’s because the Reeperbahn is really grim these days. St Pauli around it is still cool however. The banner reads “Solidarity without Borders”.

“No human is illegal”

Terrible dad jokes on the bins. Müll is German for rubbish. “I’d love to be a müllionaire”.

Pizza Bande (Pizza Gang- named after some 80s kids books) is one of my favourite spots in Hamburg. Good, cheap pizza cafe with a selection of vegan topping options, and Fritz Cola and Club Mate for drinks.

The text under the refugees welcome sticker in the cafe says “against xenophobic harassment and Nazi lowlifes”

Germany living up to all the stereotypes. He was also playing a weird selection of small towns.

You can get these really bad hologram magnets of Hamburg harbour, where the two pictures aren’t quite aligned right, and hurt your eyes.
